Weltenseele In Three Scenes
"Weltenseele" World Soul
A three-part musical cycle
World Soul is a philosophical meditation on the eternal cycle of the cosmos, inspired by the concept of the World Soul as a universal, animating principle that permeates and unifies all being.
In three scenes, it depicts the necessary cycle of destruction, conflict, and renewal—a metaphysical drama in which the World Soul itself shatters, reforms through opposition, and ultimately attains a higher unity.
1. Scene: ArmageddonThis scene contemplates the collapse of the old world order: the necessary dissolution of all forms, the return of multiplicity to the One.
The World Soul undergoes its deepest fragmentation, dissolving into primordial void—a moment of absolute negation from which alone the new can arise.
2. Scene: WarfareFrom the void emerges the great strife of opposites. The scene evokes the eternal conflict of forces in which spirit and matter, unity and multiplicity, being and non-being contend. Only through this harsh struggle can the World Soul come to know itself and reshape itself—the war as the painful yet inevitable path to the self-realization of the Absolute.
3. Scene: VictoryThe resolution of the conflict leads to reconciliation and elevation. The World Soul achieves perfected unity within multiplicity: all that was destroyed is redeemed, all that was separated is reunited. Victory is not external triumph but the revelation of the indestructible creative power of the cosmos—the return to harmonious wholeness from which new life ceaselessly emerges.World Soul thus celebrates the dialectical movement of being: from deepest destruction and fiercest opposition, higher and more vital order continually arises.
—an eternal testament to the imperishable vitality of the universe.
